Isabella Aburakia

Isabella Nadine Aburakia holds a MA in “Intercultural Communication” and a BA in the discipline “Near and Middle Eastern Studies” from Ludwig-Maximilians-University of Munich. As the former project coordinator of the international fellowship program “Violence, Trauma and Exile: in the Arab World and in Germany,” she was involved in the development process in terms of content and structure since its foundation in January 2017.

Research Interests:

Isabella has joined the team as a research fellow in March 2018. Her research project is titled: “Identity Constructions of the Palestinian Minority from 1948 Territories – A Socio-Psychological Analysis.” This research examines how politics, culture, religion and migration influence the perception and construction of social identities among Palestinians within the Green Line. Besides her focus on the Middle East and North African region, Isabella´s interests are primarily oriented around: migration, development and financial cooperation, social movements, diversity as well as peace and conflict studies.
