Maxim Roozen studied Philosophy and Religious Studies in Amsterdam, Berlin, Jerusalem, and Doha. He is a research associate in the ERC project “MAJLIS” at the Department of Jewish Studies at Ludwig-Maximilians-Universität München.

From 2020 to 2025, he was a doctoral student in the interdisciplinary Research Training Group “Philosophy, Science and the Sciences” at the Free University of Berlin, where he completed his dissertation The Concept of Given Knowledge in Early Kalām.
