Magdalen M. Connolly is a Humboldt Postdoctoral Research Fellow at the Institut für den Nahen und Mittleren Osten, Ludwig-Maximillians-Universität München, where she researches linguistic features of written Arabic and Judaeo-Arabic in pre-modern folktales. Prior to this, Magdalen was a Leverhulme Early Career Fellow at the University of Cambridge’s Faculty of Asian and Middle Eastern Studies (2018–2022) and a part-time Research Associate at the Taylor-Schechter Genizah Research Unit (2018–2022). She is also a former fellow and tutor of St. Edmund’s College, Cambridge (2019–2022). Magdalen earned her PhD in Middle Eastern Studies (2018) from Emmanuel College, Cambridge. Previously, she completed a BA in Arabic & Theology (2013) at the University of Exeter and an MA in Hebrew Studies (2014) at the University of Cambridge.
