Marwa Bakabas is a graduate anthropology student at the American University of Beirut. Her interest and research has been addressing the challenges of migration and those in haphazardly constructed dwellings. She has worked on programming for psychosocial support for women in camps and conducted research on elderly refugee populations as an overlooked vulnerable group. Through fieldwork on the Greek Island of Lesvos and other camps in Greece, she became interested in providing a framework of information available to address exile, violence and trauma while seeking ways of improving access to resources in both Greece and Lebanon.
Her research interest revolves around comparing migration and needs provided dwellings in Europe and the Arab world through ethnographic research.
